Getting started
Open Boards from the home flow, tap New board, name your course, and you are dropped into that board’s workspace where you can add decks, notebooks, and PDFs.
Flashcards are study cards you rate (Again, Hard, Good, Easy); NaviNotes schedules them with FSRS so hard concepts come back sooner.
Yes — upload an .apkg where the app supports Anki import; media is processed on the server and cards land in your library for review.
Upload your syllabus PDF to a board; AI reads due dates and milestones and builds a timeline you can use for reminders (counts toward AI limits on Free).
Studying
FSRS-5 is the scheduling engine that picks when each card returns based on how well you remembered it — fewer taps, better retention.
Deep Study is a focused review session for your due cards so you can clear a deck or board without distractions from the rest of the app.
You earn freeze days on 7-day streaks (up to 3 stored); if you miss a day, a freeze can keep your streak alive — streaks are not lost after a single missed day when freezes apply.
The built-in timer tracks focused study blocks toward your daily goal; finishing sessions counts toward your stats and streak-friendly habits.
Features
Knowledge graphs visualize links between concepts from your notes and cards so you can see how ideas connect inside a board or topic.
Yes — capture handwriting (e.g. from the whiteboard or notebook tools) and run OCR to turn ink into editable text (uses AI quota on Free).
Where recording is available, audio can be sent for transcription so you get searchable text to turn into notes or flashcards.
Browse listings for decks and notebooks, purchase with checkout, and sellers receive their share after platform fees — sellers need Stripe Connect set up.
Add friends by @username, join or create study rooms for group chat and shared materials, and use DMs for private messages (you can limit who can DM you in Settings).
Account & billing
Free includes a limited number of boards and AI generations per month plus ads; Basic unlocks unlimited boards, unlimited AI, and no ads.
Pricing is shown in the in-app paywall (typically around $4.99/month or annual pricing in your region).
Open Settings → Subscription → Manage or use the App Store / Google Play subscriptions page for your Apple or Google account.
In the app go to Settings → Delete Account, or see navinotes.com/delete-account for web instructions.
On the sign-in screen use Forgot password (if an account exists for that email, you’ll get a reset link).
Troubleshooting
Check Settings → Notifications and your device’s Do Not Disturb; study reminder time uses the slot you pick in Settings.
Free tier caps the number of boards — archive an old board or upgrade to Basic for unlimited boards.
Cards become due based on FSRS — study what’s due today and new reviews will appear as the schedule catches up.
Streaks need activity on scheduled study days; if you missed a day without a freeze day available, the streak can reset — check your freeze balance and daily goal.
They must have set a unique @username in profile; search the exact handle and ensure they’ve accepted your request if required.
Free tier has a monthly AI cap — wait for the next month or upgrade to Basic for unlimited generations.
